Grease trap installation
Grease traps and dosing units exist to prevent fatbergs from building up in sewers because of commercial food premises irresponsibly discarding grease. If you are the owner of a commercial food premises, there is a good chance that you are legally required to have a grease trap installed. Here is what the law states:
- The British Building Regulations (document H, section 2.21) – Drainage serving kitchens in commercial hot food premises should be fitted with a grease separator complying with BS EN 1825-1:2004 and designed in accordance with BS EN 1825-2:2002 or other effective means of grease removal.
